I've noticed that often kindergarden age children have a joy of living and enthusiasm that adults lack.  I've noticed that children often take joy in little things.  They are excited when they get to play in the playground they are happy when they go to McDonalds.  Taking joy in little things is something that many adults could learn to do.  During adolescence kids learn to be hard and scornful of such behavior (At least the adolescents I grew up with in the United States).  Toughness, coolness and independence of authority becomes prestigious.  As a result adolescents fight, take drugs and don't strike me as happy as children are.
